The School of Pioneering and Leadership Development is geared towards those whom God has given a passion for creating and leading. We believe that God has placed a specific purpose within each of us.

 

It is our desire to give you opportunities to discover that purpose, then to enable you to draw out those visions from within yourself and place them into our world. God has given YWAM Herrnhut a passion to empower and release a new generation of pioneers through a school (SPLD) filled with intense teaching and outreaches. This time is meant to equip, coach, and offer you discipleship for starting or strengthening ministries within or outside of YWAM.

 

One of YWAMs foundational values is community. We believe that in order to effectively lead you must live and grow with other believers. It is vital as a leader to serve others and to allow God to work through them in the refining of your character. Even more so, it is necessary to have a body of like-minded people supporting, encouraging and releasing you onto the path God has laid at your feet. As such, it is a requirement of the curriculum to be actively involved with a YWAM community. Though you will be traveling to Herrnhut, Germany for lectures, the object is for you to be released from your own base.

 

It is time to become passionate about your calling; from cooks to musicians, from pastors to base leaders. This school will give you a chance not just to learn what it means to be a leader/pioneer, but to have the opportunity to become that leader/pioneer. It will give you the chance to make your vision part of your daily life style.

 

The school begins in Herrnhut on September 21st, 2008 and will be twelve months long. There will be phases of intense teaching by experienced international speakers. These phases will occur at intervals throughout the twelve months. If you are part of another base you will come to Herrnhut when these phases occur, and stay with us as we journey through lectures and times of growth together. These weeks will be infused with worship and intercession, for the nations and for each other. We will be intentional in having times of reflection, led by friends such as Loren & Darlene Cunningham and David Hamilton, on what we are learning and how it applies to our calling. Together, we will practice transparency as servant-leaders.

 

It is crucial that we know the vision, mission, and values of YWAM and how we can nurture and grow this vision. In April 2009 we will be joining the "YWAM DNA" course. We will learn about our "DNA" as YWAMers and the visions Loren Cunningham has, and the role that each of us play in this vision. It will be amazing and we will hear from our founders directly. It will also be about the „Call 2 All“ and the massive growth of YWAM to 200.000 staff. This DNA infusion will be a 3 to 4 week course and will be not only for the students of this school, but also for the leaders of YWAM Europe. We will learn about who we are as YWAMers, our spiritual make-up, and how a committed lifestyle is necessary for growth.

 

The lectures are designed to enable you to dig into what it means to live in community with one another and how we can be effective leaders, with each of us having different callings and dreams. It is a time for leadership training and staff development.

 

In between our lectures you will be taking the time to really get creative. This time is set aside for you to ask God to show you what His plans are, to step out into the calling God has over you. We will be giving you great books to read involving leadership, pioneering and community; you will be asked to respond to them. You will be offered discipleship in the areas God desires to see you grow and mature in. We will be providing you with the opportunities to go on outreaches, and we want to help you and guide you as you discover your dreams and visions. The school will help you to define your vision and create a plan of action. We want to see you become active in your pioneering.

This school is registered through the U of N, therefore you will receive 24 credits for your participation.
